CPA PNG JOINS FORCES WITH IBS
Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) of Papua New Guinea is forming partnership with IBS to facilitate the delivery of CPA Professional Examinations Review classes.
CPA PNG and Institute of Business Studies (IBS) are proud to announce that commencing July 2011, IBS lecturers will facilitate the review classes at CPA PNG office. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been signed by both parties to this effect.
It is important to note that IBS was established in 1987 for the sole purpose of conducting revision classes for the then, Papua New Guinea Institute of Accountants (PNGIA). IBS took the challenge to increase the number of professionally qualified Accountants.
When IBS commenced the revision classes in 1987, there were only nine (9) fully qualified accountants including late Mr. Patrick KOLTA. IBS played an important role in boosting the number of qualified accountants to 150 to the end of 1995.
Indeed, IBS produced the very first two (2) female accountants in PNG. IBS is proud that they helped people like Messrs Johnson KALO, Deputy Managing Director of Bank South Pacific and Arave VERE, Financial Controller of PNG Sustainable Development Fund to complete their professional examinations.
The CPA PNG undertook the responsibility of facilitating the revision classes since 1996 to June 2011. CPA PNG professional examinations model consists of seven (7) modules, of which four of them are based on the CPA Australia model.
“IBS is excited to revive the relationship with CPA PNG after fifteen years!” said Mr. Sadiq Ali, Director of IBS.
The National President of CPA PNG, Dr. Ken NGANGAN is very happy to renew the partnership with IBS once again. IBS is encouraging the Bachelor of Accounting degree holders of Southern Cross University to follow these revision classes so that they could sit the examination of CPA Australia.
