Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What makes IBS different from other tertiary institutions?
We have recognised courses delivered by qualified lecturers in a conducive learning atmosphere which produces high quality graduates. A competitive advantage would also be Lecturer Evaluations by two important participants; our students through two performance evaluations per semester and by the institute Director.

Will I be able to get special help if I am trailing behind in lectures?
Academic staff members provide extra tutorials and counselling for students including discussions of future study and career plans. They also provide advice on choice of course, part-time options, the optimum method of fee payment, and other academic matters. Students are encouraged to use the open study area during free time and during week-ends, particularly where the home environment may not be very favourable for studies. Students are encouraged to meet the lecturers regarding any difficulties they face. Weaker students are given extra attention and additional homework to improve their knowledge.

Will I be able to surf the net during opening hours?
IBS provides internet access to all Diploma and Degree students at a nominal rate of payment. IBS has a separate internet room with 10 computers located within the library for this purpose.

Is there a library?
Our campus does have a library which is stocked with reference materials in the fields of Accounting, Auditing, Business, Commerce, Law, Information Technology, Management, Marketing, Taxation and relevant business related Magazines and Journals. With over 3,000 titles and journals the Library reference material is constantly updated with the latest material available. Students willing to further their knowledge in their desired field of study find our range most adequate and concise.

What are the campus rules?
IBS campus is a buai free, non-smoking and no alcohol campus. Students are encouraged to dress comfortably but appropriately. We strongly advise against cut jeans and cut shirts/ t-shirts.

How far is it from the bus stop, is it a safe walk?
The campus is secured. Students move in between classes so even 100-meter walk from the bus stop to the campus is quite safe. Most students tend to travel in groups, which is very much encouraged by us.
