Culture Change LEVEL 3
We developed this programme based on a twenty five years research published in a book authored by Jim Kouzes & Barry Posner.
This programme is ideally suited for those who have already completed the Team Building and Great Managers and Talented Employees Programs as such, we call this as the Culture change Level 3 program. The target group is Managers and Team Leaders.
Duration: Friday 1.00 pm to Sunday 5.00 pm
This programme is based on a book "LEADERSHIP the CHALLENGE" written by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner. The Leadership Challenge is about how leaders mobilize others to want to get extraordinary things done in organizations. It's about the practices leaders use to transform values into actions, visions into realities, obstacles in innovations, separateness into solidarity, and risks into rewards, It's about leadership that creates the climate in which people turn challenging opportunities into remarkable success.
This book is a fourth edition 2007 (earlier 1980, 1990 & 2006) based on a continuous research done since 1983. The principles and practices described in this book are based solidly in research. The authors wanted to know what people did when they were at their 'Personal Best' in leading others. These were experiences in which in their own perception, they set their individual leadership standards of excellence.
The leaders with whom the author's have worked with and learned from have asked them many questions about enhancing their leadership capabilities:
| | What values should guide my actions as Leaders? | | How do I best set an example for others? | | How do I articulate a vision of the future when things are so unpredictable? | | How do I improve my ability to inspire others towards a common purpose? | | How do I create an environment that promotes innovation and risk? | | How do I build a cohesive and spirited Team? | | How do I share power and information and still maintain accountability? | | How do I put more joy and collaboration in to our efforts? | | What is the source of self-confidence required to lead others? | | How do I go about improving my leadership abilities? | | | | In this LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE we offer guidance in answering these questions and more, for anyone with the desire to lead. Leaders do exhibit certain distinct practices when they are doing their best. This process varies little from industry to industry, profession to profession, community to community, county to country. Good Leadership is an understandable and a universal process. Though each leader is a unique individual, there are patterns to the practice of leadership that are shared. And that can be learned.
Think of the LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE as a field guide to take along on your leadership journey. The authors have designed this book to describe what leaders do, explain the fundamental principles that support these leadership practices, provide actual case examples of real people who demonstrate each practice and offer specific recommendations on what you can do to make these practices your own and to continue your development as a leader.
