Accounts Registration Clerk
6 MILE YOUTH RECIPIENT OF IBS SCHOLARSHIP
I have always wanted to further my education after completing Grade 10 at the Flexible Open & Distant Education (FODE) in 2008. I come from a broken family meaning my dad and mum were separated and couldn’t afford the fees to further my education to the tertiary level like the Institute of Business Studies. Since I could not afford furthering my education I spent most of my time roaming around doing nothing constructive with the 6 mile youths for a number of years.
In 2010 I learnt that there was a scholarship for the six mile youths initiated by the Chairman of the Institute of Business Studies Mr Mick Nades to educate the unemployed youths and give them a future in the community. Through the youth leader coordinator Mr John Mane I was assisted by filling out the forms and lodging them and got my letter of acceptance to study at the Institute of Business Studies. I was accepted to follow Certificate in Accounting and completed successfully and will be graduating in this year’s graduation. The learning environment is very conducive for learning and the lecturers are very helpful in helping students understand what is being taught and I am sure my other mates also share the same sentiments.
I am currently employed by a private consulting firm as an Accounts Registration Clerk. I am fortunate to be one of the recipients of the IBS Scholarships. With the scholarship it has given me an opportunity to further my studies and also to have a job to earn an income to sustain my daily needs. Without this scholarship I would still be roaming the streets with other unemployed youths doing nothing constructive. Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chairman of the Institute of Business Studies Mr. Mick Nades and the Team of the Institute of Business Studies as a whole for their commitment and effort which have set this new chapter of my life.
My advice if you are thinking of furthering your education and in search of quality education I would recommend, you choose the Institute of Business Studies as your place of education.
