Deputy Commander
Papua New Guinea Defence Force
Master of Business Administration, Deakin University, Australia
I enlisted into the Navy as a Midshipman in 1975 and become a Seaman Officer upon completion of my training in Officer Candidate School in Papua New Guinea, HMAS Cerberus and Creswell in Australia in 1977 where I was commissioned as a Sub-Lieutenant.
Since 01st October 2001, I have held the position of Deputy Commander of Papua New Guinea Defence Force, based at Murray Barracks, Port Moresby.
Although I have a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of Papua New Guinea, to help me with my career, I applied to do the Master of Business Administration programme, which IBS was advertising. In 20003, I became a student again, after many years. Through IBS I was able to complete the Master of Business Administration from the Deakin University, Geelong, Australia.
When I was studying the MBA programme, it was offered after hours, and this really helped as I had a very hectic schedule which included duty travels, work commitments and not forgetting the family commitments also.
From my personal experience, IBS provided the best venue for me to study. The lecturers were always available for one on one discussion at anytime and this was greatly appreciated. The Staff of IBS are very professional and definitely go beyond the call of duty to simplify very complex assignments and this made it easy for students to understand.
If you are serious and committed to improving your future, I encourage young and senior Papua New Guineans to use IBS as the Institution that will take you to greater heights in your Academic Achievements.
Thank you IBS!
