IBS Certificate in Accounting & IBS Certificate in Computing

After completing Grade 10, I did not get any offer for further studies and therefore stayed back in the village for 13 years. In 2005, I read about IBS and decided to fly into Port Moresby. After obtaining course information, I decided to enroll in Certificate in Accounting.

Whilst studying Certificate in Accounting, I found out that I was able to take up Certificate in Computing at a discounted price, and with exemptions for units studied in Certificate in Accounting. In 2006 when I graduated with my Certificate in Accounting, I enrolled into Certificate in Computing and graduated the following year.

Before graduating I was given a job training application form to complete. This was to be of great assistance to me as IBS soon secured a job training opportunity with Andersons Foodland. When my job training was completed, I was offered permanent employment as an Accounts Clerk. I continued working with SVS Foodland for two years when the Management was handed over to Super Value Stores.

I later applied to PNG Power where I am currently employed as a Finance Officer.

With the help of the IBS Lectures and the support staff I had already learned a lot when I graduated with my Certificate in Accounting and Certificate in Computing. I recommend IBS to anyone who thinks they have no chance. If you want to achieve something in life, work hard for it; I did! I was a villager and am now a proud Public Servant.
