Main
The School of Business offers course at certificate, undergraduate and postgraduate level. It offers courses suited for students willing to pursue future job prospects in the field of business and marketing. Students can choose from a 12 month course to 3 three course. Individuals working or with prior commitments can choose to study as part-time students. The school reviews its content every year to ensure that students are kept up to date with real business situations and practices. Depending on the course most student are able to secure jobs within 4 months of completion, business houses tend to give preference to IBS graduates. Upon completion of the course all the students are taken through a short exit programme to prepare them practically for the work challenges that may lie ahead. The exit programme aims to create a logical link between the theory they have learnt and how they can apply it practically in the organisations they go to.

Dr. A. M. Kutpudeen

Acting Head of School (H.O.S) - Business

Dr. A. Mohammed Kutpudeen earned his Master Degree in Commerce from Bharathidasan University, India in 2001. He obtained his Diploma in Computer Software from Aptech, India. His Doctoral (PhD) research work was in the area of “A study on the leather shoe industry in Tamil Nadu” in 2005 from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, India.

He has served as a Research Scholar cum Lecturer at Department of Commerce, Jamal Mohamed College, Bharathidasan University, India (2002-2005) and then as a Lecturer at The New College, Chennai, India (2005-2007).

He has participated in various national level seminars and conferences and presented papers. He taught Financial Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, Economics, Business Statistics and Organisation Behaviour.

Dr. Kutpudeen presented a paper on “GOVERNMENT POLICIES AND SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN INDIA” at a State level Seminar organised by DGNB Vaisjnav College, Chennai, India.

He presented a paper titled “EXPORT MARKETING STRATEGIES FOR LEATHER FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY IN INDIA” in University Grant Commission (UGC) sponsored State Level Seminar, organised by the PG and Research Department of Commerce, Jamal Mohamed College, India.

Dr. Kutpudeen attended a workshop on “RESEARCH IN COMMERCE” organised by the PG and Research Department of Commerce, Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy, India.

He also participated in Three Day National Seminar on “CANADIAN STUDIES” organised by the PG and Research Department of Commerce, Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy, India. Dr. Kutpudeen attended One-day workshop on “RESEARCH METHODOLOGY” organised by Holy Cross College, Trichy, India.

He presented a paper titled “ROLE OF SUPPORT SERVICES IN ENCOURAGING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP” in a State Level Seminar organised by MOP Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai, India.


Ms. Eshwin
CIM, B.Ed, MBA
Lecturer

Eshwin obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the Pacific Adventist University, Papua New Guinea in 1997. She majored in English with Business as her minor teaching field.

Prior to joining the IBS in 1998, Eshwin taught English, Commerce and Guidance in junior high schools and secondary schools and Business English to Secretarial, Business and Agriculture students.
Eshwin has completed her academic requirements for the MBA of the Southern Cross University, Australia.

She teaches Business Communication and Business Administration for students on Certificate courses and the Diploma in Commerce programme. For students on the IBS-SCU degree programme, she teaches Fundamentals of Management. She is proficient in counseling and preparing students for the workplace and serves as the editor of the IBS monthly Gazette.

Eshwin presented a paper on “TEST AND ANALYSIS IN EDUCATION EVALUATION” at Pacific Adventist University.
Eshwin revised the textbook “BUSINESS COMMUNICATION” published by Institute of Business Studies.


Mr. A. Jayakumar
B.Com., M.Com, MBA, M.Phil
Lecturer

Mr. A. Jayakumar earned his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Master of Commerce (M.Conm) from the Bharathiar University , India during 1995 and 1997 respectively.

In 1999 he obtain his Master Philosophy ( M.Phil) from Algappa University, India. He conducted research and submitted a paper on ''TEA IN EXPORT PROMOTION'' for the award of Master of Philosophy.

In 2005 he obtain Master of Business Administration (MBA) from majoring in finance from FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF KUMARAN MILLS LTD.'' for award of MBA.

He as served as lecturer in Commerce at Karpagam College and SNR Sons college, Bharathiar University , Coimbatore, India for the period of 6 years.

He as worked as Accounting teacher under the Ministry of Education, Maldives for two and half years.

He as participated in various International and National seminars and conferences.

Jayakumar served as NSS (National Service Scheme) officer and involved in various social activities in India.

His areas of competency in teaching are Accounting, Marketing, Management, Taxation, Economics and Statistics.


Mr. Ray. Pickey
B.Ed., B.Ed (Hons), MBA
Lecturer

Mr Ray Pickey joined our school in 2009.

He received his Bachelors with Honours in Education Administration in 2005 and his Masters in Business Administration in 2008 from University of Papua New Guinea.

Prior to joining IBS he worked as a Student Tutor in 2008 and part time lecturer in 2009 at School of Business Administration in UPNG.

He also worked as a school teacher for 10 years in primary and secondary schools in Madang Province.

In the year 2000, he served as a lecturer at Teacher Training in Kabaleo Teachers’ College, Madang.

His areas of specialization are Human Resource Management and Marketing Management.
