Community Service Responsibility

Community Service Responsibility

Besides the educational contributions rendered to the nation, the IBS also renders community service. IBS maintains close relationships with the Red Cross Society so as to discharge its social responsibilities. From 1996 to 2000 and 2006 to 2007, a Miss IBS was sponsored for the Miss PNG Quest conducted by the Red Cross Society. The funds raised by Miss IBS through various fund raising activities were donated to the Red Cross Society. Apart from this, blood donation camps are organized regularly for the Red Cross at IBS campus, where a large number of students, academic and support staff participate. In 2001, IBS increased its sponsorship to the PNG Sports Federation to become a Corporate Sponsor. IBS is now one of the Silver category Corporate Sponsors since 2005. Also, IBS supports several Charity organizations each year such as Missionaries of Charity, the Salvation Army, the City Mission, and the Cheshire Home. The IBS has also played a leading role in the rehabilitation of youth attached to the NCD Youth Association. Thus, IBS has become a widely respected organization and a good corporate citizen sponsoring various sporting and charity activities.
